How To Delete A Gmail Account?
- Sign in to the Gmail account you want to delete.
- Click on your profile icon in the upper-right corner of the Gmail screen, then click on “Google Account” or go to https://myaccount.google.com/.
- Click on “Data & Privacy” in the left-hand menu.
- Now scroll down and click on “Data from apps and services you use”.
- Then click on Delete Google service under the section “Download or delete your data”. If asked to sign then you have to log in if not then you have to go next to Gmail and click on delete.
- And now you have to enter an alternate email address that cannot be another Gmail address.
Now you will need to use an email address that you have access to as you will need it to verify your identity and complete the deletion process.
- Click “Send Verification Email”.
- Open the email from Google that you should have received with your alternate email address.
- Follow the delete link in the mail.
- Log in to the Gmail account you want to remove if prompted.
- Select “Yes, I want to delete (example)@gmail.com”.
- Select “Delete Gmail”. Then click “Done”.
According to Google Help, If you use Gmail through your workplace, school, or another group, you must contact your administrator, because a Gmail account can only be deleted by the Gmail account’s administrator.
Google does not specify how long it takes to delete your data once requested. If you change your mind, you can recover your Gmail and email addresses. However, if you want to delete your entire Google Account, not just your email address, there is another section to follow:

- First, you need to log in to the Google Account you want to delete.
- Click the icon with the nine dots in the top right corner and select “Account” from the dropdown menu.
- Then, under the “Account Section”, you have to click on “Data and privacy.”
- And then you have to scroll down and click on “More Options”.
- After clicking on “More Option”, you will directly reach “Delete Your Google Account”. Finally, click on “Delete Your Google Account”.
- You may be prompted to sign in again. Enter your password and click “Next”.
- Now, scroll down and check the boxes to confirm that you understand what you’re doing and that you want to delete your account. And then click on Delete Account.
- Congratulations, you have successfully deleted your Google Account.
When you delete a Google Account, all data associated with that account will be permanently deleted, including email, contacts, Google Drive files, Google Calendar events, and Google Photos. In addition, any subscriptions purchased with that account on YouTube or Google Play, such as apps, movies, games, music, and TV shows, will no longer be available.
